Fula-Bed Updates #3

Fula-Bed Updates #3

Fula-Bed pre-orders have started shipping as of Monday 11/29/21. We are excited to finally get these orders into your hands, however, once again we have some good and bad news.

Good News:

The extra add-ons we wanted to gift you made it on time. All orders will be shipped with a CNC milled aluminum strain relief mount to mate with the strain relief tab built into the Fula-Bed, and insulators for the Fula-Bed heaters!

The Bad News:

We were extremely upset to find a huge number of the Sidewinder and all of the Ender 3 Fula-Beds were damaged in transit. Some of the case packs arrived in very bad shape. The Fula-Bed's in those case packs sustained impact and damages on the corner. All of the Genius Fula-Beds arrived fine, and have shipped. Attached is a picture of the corner impact seen on the damaged Fula-Beds.

While the blame is definitely on us for not packing them more securely, we skimped on nothing to fully protect the beds during transit, including custom styrofoam inserts and a steel cage to shield from magnetic interference. Attached is a picture of how well they were packed before going into boxes. The Fula-Beds were then individually packaged in clear plastic bags and were separated by pieces of foam. We thought that these packages were indestructible, but the shipping carriers proved us wrong.

The whole team is extremely bummed about this. It was a team effort to get them in before the holiday season. While we initially did not plan on disclosing these numbers, we ended up paying $24 per Sidewinder plate to get Fula-Bed shipping via air freight amongst the storm of companies trying to get inventory delivered for Black Friday and the holiday season. We pulled every string with Fedex in order to get passed the weight limit of 100kg they imposed on most small businesses. A handful of the Sidewinder X1 plates had only visual scuffs in non-printing corners and still passed all of our flatness checks. For these, we will be reaching out to customers in order, to see if they would prefer to still accept these now at a discount, instead of waiting for the next shipment to arrive. Unfortunately, we had to render all of the Ender 3 Fula-Beds unusable. Thankfully, the shipment was insured, but it is almost impossible now to get the beds before the holiday season as we had hoped.

Sidewinder X1 Fula-Bed: 95% of Wave #1 was shipped. The rest of wave #1, #2 and wave #3 will ship January 15th. All orders for individual Fula-Bed heaters and Fula-Flex 2.0 have been shipped. These items are also off pre-order and are in stock ready to ship for orders moving forward.

Ender 3 Fula-Bed: None of the pre-orders were shipped. Wave #1-3 will ship January 15th. Any orders for individual Fula-Flex 2.0 plates have shipped and they are now off pre-order and in stock for regular ordering. .

Genius Fula-Bed: All Genius Fula-Bed orders have shipped. We even have a handful left over that are now in stock. All Genius Fula-Bed, Heater, or Fula-Flex 2.0 products are off pre-orders and now in stock for regular ordering.

Moving forward, all the Fula-Beds will be case packed in wooden crates, and placed on a pallet to avoid aggressive handling. We are now estimating for the full shipment to arrive by January 15th. This includes both remaining pre-orders and our stock. We again apologize for the delay, and I can promise you we are working as hard as possible to move past this and get the remaining Fula-Beds into everyone's hands.

This seems like a big enough issue, with all the delays these have already had, that an email should have been sent out to all the customers that purchased them. I ordered one the first day for my Ender 3 and have had it sitting apart waiting for this to show up, and now its going to be another whole month.

What are you doing with the damaged units. Can we buy them cheap?
