Z Endstop Information
My listed printer says optional for the Z endstop?
Printers listed as optional have build plates with an adjustable z height. This allows the build plate itself to compensate for the added thickness, rather than an endstop extension. Although 99% of these printers will have the required z height for the flex plate, a few will be out of tolerance and require a spacer. To check if your printer needs an endstop extension, loosen the build plate and home your printer. With the loose build plate in the home position try sliding the flex plate, while attached to the magnet, between the build plate and screen. If it fits underneath, then you can proceed to installation without any spacer! If it does not, go ahead and print one before installing the magnet.
Plate Sliding While Printing?
- Make sure your flex plate is fully clean on both sides. Any resin or debris caught between the magnet will weaken the adhesion and cause the plate to slip
- If step 1 does not work, try re-leveling your build plate. When re-leveling, use a sheet of FEP or printer paper between your build plate and screen to set the proper tension. You want to ensure that there is pressure on the paper, while still being able to pull it out from beneath the build plate. If it continues to slide, repeat this step with two pieces of paper stacked on top of each other. The slightly larger distance between the flex plate and screen will lower the pressure of the forces generated by FEP suction.
- If steps 2 and 3 did not fix your issue. Try lowering your Z lift speed in increments of 5mm/s.

Adhesion Problems? Try This....
- The first step to fix this issue is increasing your base layer exposure time by increments of 5 seconds. This fixes the issue for 9 out 10 customers!
- If step 1 does not resolve your issue, make sure your plate is clean of any oils and debris. We recommend thoroughly cleaning your flex plate with 99% isopropyl alcohol.
- Make sure your bed is leveled correctly! Sometimes the bed leveling procedure can go wrong and put the build plate out of calibration. Go through the steps carefully and make sure you have the proper tension when leveling.
- Lastly, you can sand your build plate with 400 grit sandpaper to help increase adhesion.
