Thicker Spring Steel
We landed on using 0.50mm spring steel through tons of testing, whereas most flex plate brands use 0.40mm spring steel. The increased thickness doesn't sound like a huge difference, but it brings two significant improvements.

The thicker spring steel magnetizes better against any magnet. It's a significant difference that you can feel for yourself. The increased magnetism keeps the flex plate stuck to the platform and prevents it from warping during printing. This is especially useful when printing with warp-prone materials such as PETG & ABS, where many people report issues of flex plates detaching from the magnet mid-print. The increased rigidity acts as a strain relief for the PEI, elongating its lifetime and preventing tear-outs.
Thicker PEI Sheet
PEI is a challenging material to manufacture and has trouble staying at a consistent thickness the thicker you manufacture it. It's why most brands use 0.175mm PEI, as it is cheap and abundant. We have gone out of our way to source 0.30mm PEI and pay a pretty penny for it, but we believe this helps us achieve a far superior product. The thicker PEI increases the life span of the flex plate but is also more forgiving to leveling mistakes, where many of the thinner PEI surfaces will have chunks torn out of them.
